Many hunters hunt to provide free-range, organic meat for their families. If you intend to harvest meat for human consumption, you must handle it correctly and hygienically from the moment you harvest it. The correct handling of game meat minimises the risk of bacteria or contaminants from tainting the carcass. It also reduces the risk of you contracting a disease.
The Hunter LEAP Safe Game Meat Harvest Program for Recreational Hunters uses the most up-to-date scientific research and best practice methods to educate hunters about correct handling of game meat.
Only NSW DPI accredited Hunter LEAP Providers and Trainers can provide this course on behalf of NSW DPI.
This course was developed by leading industry professionals and has been endorsed by the International Hunter Education Association (IHEA).
If you are a valid NSW R Licence holder, you maybe eligible to receive a Safe Game Meat Harvest kit that includes:
a calico meat bag
a step-by-step learning guide

and your very own A1 Safe Game Meat Harvest chart to display in your cool room, garage or man cave.
